Xa Tollemache talking to the Society in 2015
|
The Society holds a long-established winter Lecture Series, hosting Friday evening speaker events from October through to February.
Intended as a stimulus for the Society’s collective direction, talks focus on topics of interest or local relevance that contribute to the Society’s ongoing conversations and aims. The series is designed to inform and entertain, provoke debate and kindle curiosity, welcoming member residents and visitors to the town alike. Speakers as a rule have a connection to Aldeburgh or the immediate area and have included BBC political correspondent and presenter Nick Robinson, author Jon Canter, Fairtrade Chief Executive Michael Gidney, and other notable figures from the fields of literature, current affairs, music, and local government. The series raises a small amount of money to support projects in the town. Please click HERE for our upcoming talks. |
